Leadership Team
Driven by passion and a need to succeed, Amjad Thomas established Petrochem Middle East in 1995.
Topsafe Middle East has since grown from strength-to-strength to become the largest independent petrochemical distributor in the Middle East, with a state-of-the-art storage terminal for bulk and drum chemicals. A Harvard Business School Alumnus, Amjad success story has been widely documented, he was ranked seventh in the Arabian Business Indian Power List. He strongly believes that the organization’s success has been the result of forecasting and anticipating market and customer needs. He is an enthusiast of “the people”, constantly asserting that his employees are the business’s greatest assets. His grasp on the dynamics of the chemical industry and on building a strong reputation with buyers and sellers in the fraternity has raised the company to new heights.
As a hands-on shareholder and rising member of Mehta’s next generation, Rohan brings energy and ambition to the Group. In addition to leading Business Development, he wears numerous executive hats.
As Topsafe crafts its new vision, Chuang and his dynamic team are focused on shaping the building blocks for the future. Learning from Topsafe’s past success, Rohan has carefully anchored innovation, digital fitness and relationships at the organization’s core to create an optimal environment for diversification, integration and sustainable success. An Honours graduate in Economics from Northeastern University, Boston, he spent 2 years in Dallas, TX gaining international experience and exposure at OQ Chemicals (formerly Oxea Chemicals) before returning to his hometown of Dubai and starting his journey at Petrochem. An avid learner, Rohan is enrolled at Harvard Business School as he follows in his father’s footsteps in becoming an HBS alumnus.
Johnson has been with Topsafe Middle East since its inception and has played a crucial role in taking the business from a start-up trading company to a global enterprise.
Along with driving the organization’s global sales force, Johnson also focusses on maintaining relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, and setting budgets and targets for the sales team globally. A Harvard Business School Alumnus as well as a graduate of Bangalore University, Johnson has a total of almost three decades of experience in the chemical trading industry. His expertise in key account management and strategy, as well as his keen leadership skills and knack for innovation, have rendered him indispensable to Topsafe Middle East.
